The Britney madness has the opportunity to come to an end.
The city of Los Angeles is trying to adopt an ordinance that is nicknamed the "Law of Britney" to end the clouds of paparazzi, who follow the Popstar around the clock. At this moment, is only a proposal, but that might violate the First Amendment to freedom of the press.
Top police, however, aren’t feeling the proposed ordinance. Los Angeles Police Chief William Bratton argues that it would be difficult to implement, and said that existing laws can keep unruly "pap packages" to check anyway.
He suggested that the city tabloid pillar can help the situation - which is said to cost the city thousands of dollars for escorts and other enforcement - through the provision of photographers to work less.
"If celebrities behave themselves, it solves 90 percent of the problem," he said. "Britney, the last couple of days, has begun to wear clothing again. The paparazzi are leaving town because she’s not as interesting when she’s not running around without her underwear on.”
